History

It’s where Las Vegas started — literally. The first parcels of land owned by the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Co. were auctioned off on May 15, 1905 at the heart of what is now the Fremont Street Experience. That little town site called Las Vegas — not incorporated as a city until 1911 — has sprung into a burgeoning metropolis of more than 1.6 million people. READ MORE
