Pop! Goes the Icon is a boutique print and online publishing house, specializing in sequential art — both in traditional pamphlet form (comic books) and as online presentations (webcomics) — as well as prose books, posters, prints and whatever else we feel like foisting upon the world.
PGTI started in 2007 as a comic book/pop culture blog featuring news, commentary and personal stories from Las Vegas writer, musician and web whore Pj Perez. After moving servers a few times and building a somewhat solid web following, Perez did the only logical thing: He walked away from regular updates, temporarily turning over the blog to fellow Vegas journalist and comic geek Jarret Keene. Behind the scenes, however, the wily multimedia creator was covertly working on this, the full-fledged realization of what Pop! Goes the Icon was intended to be: A hub for new comic book, non-fiction and art projects for independent and upcoming creators.
