Vegas comic creators get ‘Drunk’

Goes the Icon is merely here to promote its own four-color follies, we’d like to shed a little light on a new project from some of our good friends in the Las Vegas comics scene: Drunk is a limited edition, hardcover anthology of sequential art tales surrounding the theme of, well, liquor consumption. Specifically, said activity at Sin City drinking establishments. Subtitled “a comic about bar stories,” the project was conceived by Michael Ogilvie, Sean Russell and Michael Todoran, who gathered dozens of  artists, both locally and nationally, including Laurenn McCubbin, F. Andrew Taylor and Evan Dent. Former keeper of the PGTI blog Jarret Keene wrote the foreword.

The graphic novel will debut during the Vegas Valley Book Festival (Nov. 4 to 8), and an entire panel will be dedicated to Drunk at the concurrent Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival, where not coincidentally, PGTI will have a significant presence. And by significant, we mean possibly drunk behind a table with a stack of crap to sell you. In addition, original art from the comic will be on display at Atomic Todd gallery (1221 S. Main St.) during the month of November.
